HISTORY

I’m an Art Director who has been in the industry for 12+ years. I graduated from The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg with a degree in Graphic Design, where I learned how to take ideas & translate them into clear, visual solutions.

[Who I Am]

Since then, I’ve built my career by combining creativity with strategy, guided by the belief that the best work challenges people to see things differently.

As an Art Director, I focus on brand strategy, creative direction, and design across digital, print, and campaign work. My role is about building strong brand foundations and making sure every piece of design serves a purpose—whether that’s elevating an identity, simplifying a message, or creating something that connects with an audience in a new way.

Over the years I’ve found that every client is unique, with each brand carrying its own personality and challenges. Since 2014, I’ve created 5–10+ websites per year and contributed to more than 100 different brands, each with their own set of goals and creative needs. That experience has not only sharpened my design skills but also given me the chance to mentor younger designers, showing them the excitement and opportunity this industry holds. I’ve come to value delegation and critique as much as hands-on design, and I approach every project with the same drive to create something meaningful.

Past & Current Experience

In the web side of things, I handle or assist in everything from UI/UX design, content creation, to fully realized visual systems. This work is supported by a strong specialization in branding, layout, packaging, motion, and environmental graphics. Branding work has ranged from logo design to full brand system development. My layout projects span everything from brochures to packaging. In motion, I’ve created everything from TV commercial spots to custom website animations. I’ve worked across several major sectors, including commercial real estate, healthcare, and nonprofits.

What I find most rewarding is building a brand foundation and then seeing our team and clients run with it—creating their own materials guided by our collaborative process.

Frey Design

Art Director

[2014 - 2016]

Senior Designer

Martin Creative Inc.

I oversaw everything from initial wireframes and content strategy to polished, launch-ready sites. Alongside that, I maintained a strong focus in branding, layout, and pre-press production. This included developing visual identities, creating marketing collateral, refining print-ready files, and ensuring consistency across every touchpoint.

I especially enjoyed leading projects and building relationships with new clients, all within a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Sunrise Printing Inc.

Pre-Press Designer

[2014]

My primary focus was pre-press, supported by a secondary role in layout design as well as office maintenance and administrative tasks. My pre-press responsibilities ranged from preparing files for small-scale business card production to managing commercial-level print materials. My layout work covered a broad spectrum as well—from simple business cards to full catalog designs. Maintenance and admin work entailed things like re-calibrating printer systems to folding and cutting booklets at mass scale.

Working closely with production gave me a deeper appreciation for the craft of printing and a stronger understanding of color management, paper stocks, and technical limitations. That knowledge has made me a more informed and effective designer overall.

[2014-2013]

Internships

Cubicle Ninjas, SGJ Design, & Dyer Design

My responsibilities across each internship varied widely—from designing printed poster campaigns to building websites and creating motion graphics. Through those experiences, I learned the importance of putting the client’s needs first while still honoring my own design standards, and how to strike that balance in a finished project. I also came to appreciate the value of pushing each design thoughtfully, regardless of the project’s size or scope.

What I found most rewarding was observing how professionals in the industry approached their work—how they managed projects, collaborated with clients, and supported their teams. Seeing that process firsthand gave me the confidence, excitement, and direction to pursue a career in this field with genuine drive and passion.
